Our second quarter recipe contest, “Cutting Calories, Adding Zest” has just begun! Entries will be accepted now through the end of June. We are ‘springing’ into action by kicking off the season with a healthy start featuring cranberries as a way to punch up the flavor of any low-calorie dish. (Cranberries in the recipe can be in any form; fresh, dried, sauce or juice.) We’re looking for recipes that are light on the waistline, but big on flavor.
A diet that includes cranberries is thought to provide health benefits due to their flavonoid and phytonutrient content, according to The Cranberry Institute. (www.cranberryinstitute.org). So with the focus on health and fitness, dust off those jogging shoes and run into the kitchen to whip up your best low-cal cranberry dish!
