2012 Second Quarter Recipe Contest Winners
“Cranberry Party Foods”
This contest ran from April 1, 2012 through June 30, 2012. The theme was “Cranberry Party Foods.” After careful consideration by our test kitchen judges, these three recipes proved to be the life of the party!
First place goes to Anne Lauer for her “Bestest” Cranberry Bars. (Pictured above – See recipe below)

Third place goes to Ann Hamber for Bruschetta Turkey Cranberry Appetizers

“Bestest” Cranberry Bars:
- 2 eggs
- ½ C. butter, softened (1 stick)
- 1 ½ C. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 ½ C. flour
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 2 C. whole fresh cranberries
- ½ C. chopped pecans
- 2-1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 teaspoons milk
- 1/4 cup butter, softened (1/2 stick)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream together eggs, butter, sugar and vanilla.
Add flour, salt, baking powder, cranberries and nuts.
Pour batter into greased and floured 9X13″ baking pan.
Bake for 35-40 minutes.
Beat together frosting ingredients. Spread over cooled bars.
Cut into small bars.
Makes 45 bars
