Mary Leverette of Columbia, South Carolina, was the 3rd-place winner in our May 2009 Cranberry Appetizers recipe contest with her entry for Cheesy Cranberry Crescents. The judges noted that Mary’s recipe was easy to make and tasted good served either warm or cold.
- 3 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 3 ounces gorgonzola cheese, softened
- 1 cup sweetened dried cranberries
- 1 12-inch refrigerated pie crust
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. In a small bowl, mix the cream cheese, gorgonzola and dried cranberries.
Unroll the pie crust onto a cutting board. Cut into 16 equal pie-shaped wedges. Place a dollop of cranberry filling on the wide end of the wedge. Starting with the wide edge, roll the dough like a crescent roll. Place side seam down on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm or cold.
